What is ISPE?

The International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineers is the largest drug related association in the world. ISPE has three main categories which focuses on; drug discovery, drug development, and drug marketing. 

As a member of ISPE in the SJSU chapter, students will have opportunities to network with various company representatives, tour some of the largest pharmaceutical facilities in the Bay Area, and become familiarized with the latest news of the pharamceutical and biotechnology industries. 

A common misperception of ISPE is that it only consists of engineers which is not the case. Because the industry is vast in it's practice, many majors are involved, spanning from science (chemistry, biology, prepharma), to marketing (business, finance), to every kind of engineering (civil, electrical, mechanical, chemical). It takes a mixture of these disciplines to develop a product that may save millions of lives and, ultimately, change the world.
